Product Information

A Microwave meter for rapid determination of moisture content in sand and other fine and coarse aggregates.

The Trident™ T-T-90 utilizes the latest microwave and microprocessor technology to measure moisture content in various fine and coarse-grained materials. The prongs of the probe are inserted into the material to be tested and the percentage of moisture content is instantaneously shown on the easy to read display.

An average of five to ten readings is normally taken in order to ensure a valid result. This output is converted by the integrated microprocessor and the moisture content is displayed directly as a percentage of dry weight. The Trident™ comes calibrated for both sand and aggregate, and can be programmed by the user with up to ten different materials.

The Trident™ can store more than 150 readings - complete with time and date for future reference. Data can be recalled via USB interface to a personal computer.

Calibration Procedures

• Dry sample in low heat using oven. It is suggested to weight sample prior to drying.
• When sample has lost all moisture, calibration can be started.
  Weight dried sample
• Add water by 2 percent increments.
  i.e. 4,000 grams – 2 percent water = 80 grams of water
• Turn T-90 on
• Using up or down arrows, scroll through the menu selection until Direct mode appears on the T-90 display. (It is recommended to erase all prior data saved in the T-90. (T-90 manual page 11))
• Take 10 readings for each percentage. Store each reading by pressing enter.
• After T-90 has hit full saturation (direct reading 409.5 percent), uploading data to C. Software is necessary.
• Uploading can be done by connecting the Trident™ to the P.C. using the supplied RS232 cable.
• Use instructions in the T-90 manual pages 14-17 to successfully accomplish calibration.
• Once analyzation has been completed with the T-90 P.C. Software, the Offset and the Gain will be displayed.
  Write down these two values.
• Return to the T-90 and enter a user program. (T-90 manual page 7 “Change user program”)
  Once the gain and offset have been enterd in the T-90, calibration has been completed.
