New Product: Datascan MK II™
James Instruments Inc. is pleased to announce the release
of the Datascan MK II™. This unit represents the latest technology
in locating steel reinforcing bar and other features within
concrete. Based on ground penetrating radar technology, the
unit has been optimized for simple, rugged, and reliable performance
on concrete structures.
The large graphic screen is daylight visible, and permits
the user to evaluate results in a variety of modes: A-Scan
mode, which is an image of a single wave form; B-Scan mode,
shows the engineer a cross-sectional image of the concrete;
and finally with the accompanying software, C-Scan, which
allows the user to view a map of features inside the structure.
The unit has been designed for easy and rugged use. Simply
pressing the start button and rolling the unit across the
surface of the concrete displays the image. There are also
a variety of built in signal processing algorithms the engineer
can use to evaluate the image received. The unit is light
weight or single user operation, and it has a ruggedized construction
for operation on a construction site.
The Datascan MK II™ has an option for a field printer for
a hard copy of the displayed image. It will also store data
for subsequent upload to a Windows compatible personal computer.
