James Instruments Inc., leading manufacturer of non destructive test equipment announce new catalog for 2011 . This catalog features equipment designed for construction material testing.

Chicago, IL, USA February 2nd , 2011, James Instruments Inc. manufacturer of the world's most advanced Non Destructive Test Equipment for construction materials has released a new catalog for 2011. This catalog features equipment for the contractor, engineer, material producer, and educational institution. The catalog features equipment that analyzes concrete, mortar, brick, masonry, drywall, wood, soil, and ceramics. The instruments are featured to determine strength, locate objects in structures, evaluate density ultrasonically, analyze corrosion, as well as determine moisture content.

James Instruments New Catalog

James Instruments Inc. New Catalog for 2011

This catalog features equipment that evaluate a number of parameters:

First category is material strength of materials which includes the Windsor Probe™ System for concrete compressive strength in the field. Safe, quick, and simple to use it is the most effective method of concrete compressive strength testing on site. The system performs equally well on standard and high performance concrete. This test conforms to ASTM C-805 and other International Standards. Also included is the Windsor Pin™ System which is a unique instrument for measuring the strength of new or existing concrete, mortar and other construction materials in the field utilizing the established principle of resistance to penetration. A unique chuck allows testing of mortar joints compressive strength in the field. The Windsor Pin™ System also conforms to ASTM C-803 Included are also manual test hammers which provide the most economical, quick and easy concrete compressive strength test in the field. They also provide an indices of hardness and compressive strength for other construction materials. They conform to ASTM C-805 and other International Standards. Digital test hammers for the quick and easy determination of the strength of concrete, and hardness of construction materials. Like the manual test hammers they also conform to ASTM C-805 and other International Standards. Included in this category are a range of pull testing devices. James Bond Test™ System measures the bonding strength between two layers of existing materials, determine the adhesion strength of shotcrete, epoxies, paint and other repair materials or coatings. The Standard Anchor Test System measures the pull strength of anchors in concrete, wood, masonry, brick and other construction materials. The Super Anchor Test System for testing anchor strengths in concrete, wood, masonry, and other construction materials above 30 KN ( 4000 lbf ). Also include in this category are IQM Meter™ System which enables fresh concrete strength to be easily and completely monitored in the field for improved safety, quality, and optimum setting time. Conforms to ASTM C-1074 and C-918. IQT Meter™ System which is used for recording time and temperature.

The second category is rebar locators, used for locating and analyzing the location of rebars and other items in concrete and masonry. Primary instrument is the R-Meter™ MK III built for the professional this is the most advanced system for finding the location, depth, and size of reinforcement bar, post tension cables, copper and conduit. The unit includes a cover mapping feature, storage, and upload to PC! Also included is the Mini R-Meter™ ruggedized for tough field use, this economical hand held unit is used for finding the location, estimates either depth, or size of reinforced rebar, post tension cables, copper and conduit!

Ultrasonics is the next category. This includes the V-Meter™ MK III. The most advanced system for ultrasonic pulse velocity in concrete, wood, ceramic and other coarse grained and construction materials. This test method rapidly and easily allows you to locate cracks, voids, rot and other areas of inhomogenity in the material under test. Complete System includes transducers, instrumentation unit, cables and software for PC, Conforms to ASTM C - 597 and other standards. The Vu-Con™ System for measuring the thickness, determining quality, and locating areas of honeycombing, voids and delaminations in concrete is included. Complete System includes instrumentation unit, velocity and depth transducers, impactor set, charger and PC Software for data uploads. The Vu-Con™ System conforms to ASTM C-1383 and other International Standards. The E-Meter™ MK II used for the determination of resonant frequency of materials, Young's Modulus of Elasticity, and Poisson's Ratio. The complete system includes E-Meter Instrument, Accelerometer W/ Pick-Up Cable, Charger, Rs 232 Cable, PC Software And Standard Bench Assembly W/ Parts. Conforms to ASTM C-215, and ASTM C-666 as well as other International Standards.

The corrosion category has a range of instruments for the corrosion engineer. The Gecor 8™ for corrosion rate determination. It has method for rapidly mapping a structure's rebar corrosion rate with an advanced modulation confinement technique for precise corrosion rate analysis. Also has a new corrosion rate analysis technique for use in very wet or submerged structures. There is also a new methodology for measurement of cathodic protection efficiency. The Chlorimeter™ a field test system to determine the chloride ion concentration in wet Or dry concrete, and other construction materials. This parameter is fundamental in corrosion analysis of existing structures. It automatically shows a temperature compensated reading of percent of chlorides on its digital display. A wide chloride ranges - from 0.002 to 2% chloride by weight - is covered. Results can be obtained in minutes! Also included are the Cor-Map™ and Cor-Map™ II half cell potential systems for identifying areas of probable corrosion in the field. Poroscope™ field test for air and water permeability of concrete using the Figg technique. Both air and water permeability are measured by the same instrument. Permeability both at the concrete surface as well as within the concrete mass can be determined. Porosity in sealants and surface mortars can be checked. Each test can completed in only a few minutes.Ohmcorr™ Test System concrete resistivity meter used to assess rebar corrosion in concrete. Finally the James ASTM Type B pressure meter and the Volumetric air meter.

Moisture deterimination is the final category. The Trident™ is a microwave meter used for the rapid determination of moisture content in sand and other fine or coarse aggregates. It is fast and easy to use as well as completely portable. The Aquaprobe™ is a microwave meter for the rapid determination of moisture content in different types of soil. Cementometer is a microwave meter used for the determination of water/cement content ratio in fresh concrete.

James Instruments specalises in Non-Destructive testing equipment for concrete and other construction materials. Central to the improvement of the concrete infrastructure are tools that evaluate the condition of existing construction. Destructive and non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques are applied. Destructive tests can provide direct information, but are relatively expensive, time-consuming and cause damage to the structure. Destructive test results often cannot be evaluated using statistical approaches because the number of locations in the structure that can be tested without damage to the structure is limited. On the other hand, NDT techniques are relatively inexpensive to apply, and they can detect, localize, and characterize flaws and damage in concrete structures without leaving any undesirable discontinuities or causing damage to concrete members.

James Instruments Inc. is the leading manufacturer of non-destructive test equipment for construction materials, specifically concrete, ceramic, wood and other coarse grained materials. We supply the instruments that: measure strength, locate rebar and other objects in concrete and masonry, determine density and analyze materials ultrasonically, analyze corrosion and determine moisture in concrete and other construction materials. And more. James Instruments -- rugged, quality equipment for field use -- backed by factory service and an ongoing program of research and development.
